SEQUENCING SERVICES

Sequential Genetics is a full-service clinical and research sequencing provider. We provide Next Generation Sequencing, Metagenomics Sequencing and Fragment Analysis services. We can provide a variety of service levels, based on your needs. All-inclusive service includes DNA extraction through comprehensive data report.

Advantages
 Next Generation Sequencing: We offer custom targeted panels as well as genotyping utilizing the Thermofisher Scientific Ion S5™ XL. Utilizing the power of semiconductor sequencing, this system offers the fastest turnaround of any next generation sequencer on the market. We can discover point mutations, insertions/deletions(INDELS), and copy number variations(CNVs) in your genes of choice.
Fragment Analysis: Capillary-based fragment analysis allows for accurate, high throughput analysis of DNA fragments. All fragment analysis is performed on the Applied Biosystems 3500xl.
Metagenomics Sequencing: Bacterial 16s Metagenomic Testing analyzing up to 7 variable regions of the 16s rRNA by NGS.
Cost-Effective: using NGS on the ThermoFisher Scientific Ion S5xl™ platform we can obtain thousands to millions of reads on multiple samples which allows for lower cost and a faster turnaround time.
Custom Panels: we can create a custom panel with genes of your choice for any of your Research or Clinical programs.

Genotyping by Sequencing (GBS)

We provide GBS technology for all species available to include human, plant or animal. It is the method preferred for high throughput detection of Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP). SNPs are a single base pair variation than can occur throughout the genome. The high throughput sequencing power of the ThermoFisher Scientific Ion S5xl™ platform using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) combined with a restriction enzyme process makes this the method of choice.

GBS applications
Human: SNPS can be used for a variety of applications including discovery of biomarkers, predicting response to drugs, evaluating traits , or assessing risk for developing diseases in humans.
Plant: Plant breeding, species identification, and genetic structure of the plant.
Animal: Select livestock species allowing genomics to assist in breeding selections.
Research: We can provide a custom SNP panel for any of your human, plant, or animal research projects.

DNA BANKING SERVICES

Sequential Genetics will provide secure storage and handling of a patient’s DNA sample.
DNA Banking advantages include testing now and/or testing in the future.
Convenience for your physician to order further testing without a new sample collection.
Service will include 2 extracted samples stored for a minimum of 5 years.
All patient information will be stored under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) requirements and guidelines.
A patient’s DNA can be withdrawn for testing and returned upon request.

1. Specimen: Saliva or Blood (2-5mL blood in EDTA tube)
2. Physician and Patient Signed Requisition Form
3. Results within 2 weeks
